Business Development Associate (Canada)

Job Description
The Business Development Associate (Canada) will focus on expanding Talentier’s client base across Canada by building meaningful relationships and developing strategic partnerships. This role involves identifying new opportunities with startups, SMEs, and enterprises seeking tech solutions and development support. For example, the manager may attend networking events in Toronto, tech summits in Vancouver, or startup incubators in Montreal or cities with a higher tech presence to connect with potential clients and introduce Talentier’s services.
The role also includes establishing partnerships with Canadian incubators, accelerators, and universities to unlock growth opportunities. Additionally, the Business Development Manager will collaborate with internal teams (Product, Marketing, and Sales) to align solutions with market demands and set clear sales goals. For instance, the manager may work with engineers to tailor technical solutions for clients or partner with data analysts to refine sales strategies for the Canadian market.
Job Responsibilities
• Identify New Opportunities:
Research and connect with startups, SMEs, and enterprises across regions like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and other large Canadian cities to generate leads.
Example: Reach out to fintech startups in Toronto or cold-call SaaS companies based in Vancouver to explore business opportunities.
• Build and Manage Partnerships:
Develop relationships with Canadian incubators, accelerators, and universities to foster collaboration.
Example: Partner with a Montreal-based startup accelerator to provide consulting and tech development services to emerging businesses.
• Collaborate with Internal Teams:
Align with marketing, product, and sales teams to create strategies and offer solutions tailored to the Canadian market.
Example: Work with the product team to ensure solutions meet the technical requirements of Canadian clients in the healthcare sector.
• Attend Industry Events and Network:
Represent Talentier at Canadian trade shows, conferences, and meetups to build brand awareness and generate leads.
Example: Attend Collision in Toronto to connect with startups and tech innovators.
• Meet Sales Targets and Drive Growth:
Focus on hitting revenue goals by managing pipelines and closing deals—your success impacts your earnings.
Job Requirements
• Relevant Experience:
Open to Canadian university graduates and candidates with 2+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales.
• Sales and Negotiation Skills:
Experience building client relationships and closing deals is preferred.
• Problem-Solving Ability:
Creative, adaptable, and proactive in identifying business opportunities.
• Collaborative and Data-Driven:
Comfortable working with internal teams and using metrics to optimize sales performance.
• Language Skills:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is a strong advantage, especially for engaging with Quebec-based clients.
